Mackie of the Unicorn
Putting Mackie controllers to use for MOTU AVB DSP mixers.
This project aims to control MOTU AVB mixers using control surfaces that support the Mackie Control Universal (or Logic Control) protocol.
Currently it supports:
- Mute and solo controls
- Switching between sets of 8 channels
- Showing channel labels on the scribble strip
This was a project I started after I bought a MOTU 8M audio interface. This interface has a very nice DSP mixer that can be controlled from a web browser. I thought it would be cool to control it using my control surface.
I ran into some technical limitations while implementing the fader controls, and I stopped using the controller when I moved, so I never really finished it. But it’s still available for download, and I hope to work on it again sometime.
